Living Lab Salut Terrassa: Pioneering innovation for health
The Living Lab Salut Terrassa was a pioneering initiative, promoted by the Terrassa City Council as part of the Healthcare Living Lab project, which has laid the foundations for a new way of innovating in the field of healthcare. Completed in 2022, this unique space made it possible to evaluate and validate ideas, products and services aimed at improving the quality of life of the population.
Through a user-centered approach, the Living Lab Salut Terrassa facilitated the observation of real needs in the everyday environment, experimentation with new products and services, and the simulation of specific situations to validate innovative solutions.
Its main achievements include:
- The creation of synergies between technology and key agents in the sector to stimulate new ideas.
- The integration of human and social factors in R&D challenges.
- Early and continuous validation of technologies, beyond the final testing of prototypes.
The projects developed focused on strategic areas such as healthy aging, healthy lifestyles, efficient healthcare management and the application of new technologies in the healthcare environment. These initiatives responded to specific needs of the population and were designed to be scalable in health systems.
The project was co-funded by the European Union (ERDF Operational Program 2014-2020) and the Diputació de Barcelona, consolidating itself as a benchmark in healthcare innovation and a source of inspiration for new initiatives in the sector.
