Scientific hubs for fostering collaboration
Fundació Leitat plays a key role at the conceptualization, creation and management of scientific and technical infrastructures designed to boost the research, the development and the innovation (R&D&I).These facilities act as Sientific Hubs that encourage the collaboration on industrial, academics and research agents, contributing to the economic and social development of the territory.
Main objective
To provide facilities specialized that enable the development of R&D&I activities, improving the competitiveness of the science and technology sectors, and attracting talent and investment to the innovation ecosystem.
Managed infrastructures
Location: Calle de la Innovació, 2, Terrassa.
Description: Multidisciplinary facility for advanced research and technological development. Its facilities foster creativity and technology transfer between companies, researchers and entrepreneurs.
Financing: Received a grant from the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) at the framework of program PO FEDER Catalunya 2007-2013, with 50% financing of eligible expenditure. The period of execution was between 2009 and 2011.
Impact: It has provided the creation of new lines of research and development of innovative products in sectors such as biomedicine and health, manufacturing advanced and 3D printing.
Location: Calle Pallars, 179-185, Barcelona.
Description: Facility designed to host technology projects that require advanced technical infrastructure. Provides a collaborative environment that connects the main actors of Barcelona’s innovative ecosystem.
Financing: Received a grant from program PO FEDER Catalunya 2007-2013, with 50% financing 50% of eligible expenditure. The period of execution was between 2012 and 2015.
Impact: It has contributed to attracting technology and science companies to Barcelona, consolidating its position as a bechmark for innovation in biomedicine and health.
